Peter Englisch
Experience & Background
Peter is Managing Director at INTES Academy for Family Businesses, Germany, and since July 2024 a board member of various international Family Businesses, as well as board advisor for a number of international Impact Investing organizations.
Until the end of June 2024 he was senior partner and shareholder at PwC Germany and Global Family Business as well as EMEA Entrepreneurial and Private Business Leader. Before joining PwC, Peter spent 25 years as a senior partner at EY, where he developed and led their Family Business and Family Office practices and headed the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in Germany.
As a co-author of various family business, family office, and growth company-related publications in collaboration with globally leading business schools and institutions, he was able to build a strong reputation and a leading market position for PwC globally. He holds a strong personal global network with business owners and executives as well as leading academic and professional institutions and served as a board member at the international Family Firm Institute (FFI). In July 2024 Englisch was named as “Global Top 10 Family Business Advisor” by Family Capital Publishing (UK) and is an inaugural member of the “Global Family Business Hall of Fame” by Family Business United (UK).
As a German tax advisor, accountant, and US-CPA, he has more than 32 years’ experience in providing both international and national companies with assurance and advisory service with a focus on supporting family businesses and family offices in addressing a broad range of issues, including succession planning, family and business governance, and growth strategies and sustainable business transformation. In 2009 he invented EY´s and PwC´s Global NextGen Program with a focus on supporting the next generation of Family Business Owners in their future roles as owners, board members or executives. As leader of the program since its inception, he has mentored more than 1.000 NextGen worldwide.
Expertise & Interests
In addition to his professional qualifications, Peter holds various certificates as a family business and family wealth adviser (CFBA and CFWA) and is passionate about working with entrepreneurs involved with companies ranging from innovative startups, established legacy family businesses and NextGens up to professional family offices across a broad range of industries. In addition, he serves as a board member of various non-profit and social organizations.
Contributions to IMD
Peter contributes to IMD as an advisor, contributor to research projects, guest speaker in our MBA, EMBA, or executive development programs, or as a mentor for participants.
