IMD receives recognition for the development and implementation of innovative technology in its education portfolio.
December 2023

IMD has received unprecedented recognition with eight golds at the 2023 Brandon Hall Tech Awards for its innovative learning experiences.

IMD’s Digital Transformation Sprint program, developed in partnership with NovoEd, amassed six gold medals, while OWP+GPT and the program Mastering Board Governance received one each.

“There’s something very emblematic about receiving such strong recognition specifically in the area of technology. At IMD, we have strategically decided to place the constant innovation of the learning experience at the heart of what we do, and the programs and initiatives that have been awarded are a vivid testament to that,” says David Bach, Dean of Innovation and Programs and Professor of Strategy and Political Economy.

The Digital Transformation Sprint program, directed by Michael Wade, Professor of Innovation and Strategy and Director of the IMD Global Center for Digital Business Transformation, was the recipient of six gold awards:

  • Best Best Authoring Tools Platform
  • Best Digital Courseware Platform
  • Best Collaboration Platform
  • Best Mobile App for Education
  • Best Online Courses or MOOCs Solution
  • Best E-learning, Blended, Flipped Classroom Solution or Remote Solution

IMD Sprints are online programs that deliver fast-paced faculty-led sessions on key topics such as mastering stress, generative AI for business, and digital transformation. The next Sprint, Business Creativity and Innovation Sprint, led by Cyril Bouquet, Professor of Strategy and Innovation, and Michael Wade, will start in February 2024.

IMD has also received gold in the Best Advance in Emerging Learning Technology category for its implementation of OWP+GPT at IMD’s signature program, Orchestrating Winning Performance (OWP).

IMD’s ChatGPT answered the question by utilizing what was discussed in the session, plus the relevant corpus information, and utilizing OpenAI’s GPT-4 to round out the answer. The execution of OWP+GPT is part of IMD’s broader vision to harness AI for more robust and impactful learning experiences.

The online program Mastering Board Governance, directed by Didier Cossin, Professor of Governance and Finance, and Founder and Director of the IMD Global Board Center, received Gold for Best Advance in Education Delivered Through Technology.

By doing weekly immersive board simulations, participants gain hands-on knowledge of the principles and best practices for effective board governance. The upcoming program is scheduled for February 2024.

These recognitions add up to the seven awards received earlier this year at the 2023 edition of the Brandon Hall Group Awards.

Brandon Hall Group runs the largest and longest awards initiative in the field of Human Capital Management. Through awards, they recognize the organizations that demonstrate excellence in deploying programs, strategies, modalities, processes and tools.
