IMD’s newly redesigned MBA program has been awarded the coveted title of 2024 MBA Program of the Year by Poets&Quants, the renowned media outlet for business education.
This award recognizes the renewed focus of the MBA curriculum for 2025, which embeds artificial intelligence both as a topic and as a learning tool.
“This is a great honor for IMD and for our MBA community past, present, and future. It is a testament of our focus on real learning and real impact,” shared IMD President David Bach. “These curricular changes will benefit our participants and community for years to come, and I’m very happy this has been recognized by such a prestigious award from our industry.”
Adapting to a changing world
“I’d like to thank John Byrne and Poets&Quants for this award. While what drives what we do is our purpose to develop reflective and responsible leaders, this recognition allows us to bring to the fore the importance of staying innovative and adapting to a changing world,” said Omar Toulan, Dean of the MBA program. “Management education has a responsibility to take the lead in preparing individuals to deal with a rapidly changing environment. In our redesign of the MBA, this need was front and center in driving our thinking.”
AI…and human qualities
The AI-enabled curriculum equips participants with the experiences, skills, and tools to help them navigate in a data-driven world. At the same time, a strong focus is placed on human qualities like leadership and driving transformation – skills that are increasingly crucial in today’s environment.
“The reorganization of the program around elemental human traits in an increasingly AI world is on the mark,” shares Poets&Quants Founder and Editor-In-Chief John Byrne, adding that:
“IMD has moved faster and deeper than other schools in addressing the needs of this new generation of leaders.”
By leveraging real-world learning settings, the MBAs will be able to develop their ability to problem-solve with data and formulate effective people-centric strategies for change and transformation. Accompanying them in their learning journey and extending their experience beyond the classroom, the MBA students will have access to IMD AI+-, a learning tool likened to a ‘tutor in your pocket’, trained on the faculty’s expertise and materials from the course.
Innovation in action
In addition to the International Consulting Projects, participants will spend one month at IMD’s Future Lab in Singapore to experience innovation in action. MBAs will have the opportunity to connect with global leaders, explore technological frontiers, and deepen their understanding of international business practices.
Top-tier executive education
This redesign is part of our commitment to delivering top-tier executive education, continually adapting to the evolving global business environment, and developing leaders and organizations that contribute to a more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive world.
