IMD has been recognized among the top five case study producers in The Case Centre Impact Index for 2023/2024. For the second consecutive year, the business school has achieved fourth place in the index, which annually evaluates the global reach and impact of organizations’ case writing.

Enabling learners to grow as managers and leaders

“At IMD, we bridge rigorous academic thought leadership and cutting-edge business practice to deliver real learning and real impact,” shares IMD President David Bach. “This recognition reaffirms our commitment to producing teaching materials that enable learners to grow as managers and leaders, thus enhancing their ability to contribute to a more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive world.”

The Impact Index, published for the first time in 2023, is compiled by using The Case Centre’s data from the last academic year. It measures the number of cases adopted, the number of organizations that adopted them, and the number of countries and students who have been taught using these cases.

Commitment to high-quality case writing

“With so many new schools joining the Index, building on the work of those with established influence, it’s fantastic to celebrate these tremendous contributions to the business education community,” says Vicky Lester, Chief Executive Officer of The Case Centre. “The Index is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate those schools demonstrating their commitment to high-quality case writing. Writing that is educational, engaging, and influential to students and teachers globally.”

For over 50 years, IMD’s faculty have made significant contributions to The Case Centre, earning the institution the distinction of holding the second-highest number of awards. In 2023, IMD reached a new record with over 233,000 cases sold globally.
