Lausanne, Switzerland, 1st November 2018 – IMD is the latest institution to partner with the Forté Foundation, joining several forward-thinking international business schools, corporations and non-profit organizations that work with Forté towards increasing the number of women in business leadership roles.
Through its partnership with the Forté Foundation, IMD intends to strengthen its commitment to women in business. The partnership will help IMD not only reach an even more diverse pool of talent but offer its current female students and alumnae several networking opportunities and professional development tools.
“In sponsoring the Forté Foundation and announcing two Forté Fellowships, IMD reaffirms its commitment to equal opportunity and progress for women in business,” stated IMD MBA Dean, Seán Meehan. “While businesses clearly need to do more to engage women in leadership positions, we feel it is our duty to play our part in making that a reality. We want to provide all talented women the opportunity to fully develop their leadership potential. Our goals are totally aligned with those of the Forté Foundation. We also make it a point to study cases of outstanding women in business within our program.”
As part of this partnership, IMD will offer at least two Forté Fellowships a year (CHF 20,000 each) to strong female candidates applying to its MBA program. Last year, 42% of IMD’s female MBAs received a scholarship, including the Nestlé Scholarship for Women and the Stewart Hamilton Scholarship for women.
The Forté Foundation is a non-profit consortium of leading companies and top business schools working together to launch women into fulfilling, significant careers through access to business education, opportunities, and a community of successful women.
“Forté is thrilled to be partnering with IMD in our shared goal to reach, inspire and support women in their pursuit of career success. IMD joins more than 100 leading business schools, corporations and non-profits committed to increasing the gender diversity in MBA programs and ultimately increase the proportion of women business leaders around the world,” commented Elissa Sangster, Executive Director, Forté Foundation.
