The German Engineer Scholarship

Criteria

• Be a citizen of Germany and demonstrate a strong engineering background
• Demonstrate excellence in previous academic and/or professional endeavours, including GPA (or equivalent) and GMAT/GRE scores
• Convince us of your ambition and ability to use your education to pursue a leadership role
• Career progression and international exposure
• Ability to contribute to the overall learning experience of your class
• Performance during the Assessment Day Essay: As an IMD MBA scholar, what would make you a good ambassador for the MBA program? (100 words)

How to apply for this scholarship:

• Please complete the Scholarships and Bursaries form found under the Financial Planning section of your admissions application.
• Before you apply to the program, we strongly recommend that you evaluate the investment needed and investigate the various financing options available to you. An overview of the program fees, payment schedule and estimated living expenses can be found by clicking here.
• Please note that you may apply for multiple scholarships, however scholarships are non-cumulative, therefore you will not be selected for more than one. In addition, scholarships are reserved for those who are not sponsored.

Georg Hammer, MBA 2024 and winner of the German Engineer Scholarship

As an engineer, pursuing a master’s in business administration might not seem like the most natural path. After my master’s degree however, my career shifted towards consulting, and I solidified the goal of pursuing an MBA at IMD. Receiving the offer to study at IMD, coupled with the German engineering scholarship, was a great honor, Post-MBA, my goal is to contribute to the transformation of manufacturing industries towards more sustainable products and processes, aligning with broader societal needs.
