    Accenture is making a significant commitment to AI with a $3bn investment in its Data & AI practice, announced in June 2023. This investment will enhance assets, industry solutions, ventures, acquisitions, talent, and partnerships. The firm aims to double its AI talent to 80,000 professionals through hiring, acquisitions, and training. In late 2023, Accenture appointed Lan Guan as its Chief AI Officer.

    Accenture’s leadership in AI spans over a decade, with more than 1,450 patents and pending applications globally. In May 2024, the company strengthened its focus on responsible AI by appointing Arnab Chakraborty as its first Chief Responsible AI Officer. This move supports clients in adopting AI responsibly, particularly in the realm of generative AI.

    “Clients are eager to embrace the potential of generative AI, and we are ready to help them build responsible AI into every use. We do this for ourselves, and we can use that example to help our clients find success faster,” said Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture.

    Accenture has prioritized ethical AI since 2017, embedding responsible AI into its Code of Business Ethics. In 2022, it launched an enterprise-wide responsible AI program, ensuring the tracking, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring of AI systems.
