IMD business school for management and leadership courses

In November 2021, GE announced plans to split into three separate companies, each focusing on distinct industries: GE Healthcare, GE Aerospace, and GE Vernova. GE Healthcare, which began trading as an independent company in January 2023, leverages AI extensively across its business. It utilizes AI to analyze massive clinical datasets, uncover patterns, and enhance patient care. AI is integrated into medical device development and operations, improving outcomes and operational efficiency. Parminder Bhatia, appointed Chief AI Officer in 2023, leads the company’s efforts in generative AI and foundational models.

GE Vernova, which focuses on energy generation, applies AI to optimize internal operations and sustainability goals. The company uses AI-powered software solutions to assist in managing carbon emissions and other sustainability targets, helping organizations achieve operational efficiency. GE Aerospace, now a separate entity as well, focuses on automation and predictive maintenance. The company employs AI to predict potential engine maintenance issues before they arise, through remote monitoring centers in Cincinnati and Shanghai. Additionally, AI is used in engine inspection processes, feeding image data into machine-learning algorithms to enhance its maintenance and overhaul operations. This ensures increased efficiency and safety across aerospace operations.
