IMD business school for management and leadership courses

With over 40 years of research in natural language processing, NTT has established itself as a leader in AI, launching its proprietary Japanese large language model, Tsuzumi, which has been deployed in sectors like healthcare and customer service. In May 2023, NTT announced a $59bn investment in AI, robotics, and data centers over the next five years, demonstrating its commitment to remaining at the forefront of AI development.

In August 2024, NTT launched a new business called AI-CIX to focus on “linked AI,” where multiple AI systems collaborate across industries to optimize processes like supply chain management. The new business is based on digital twin and optimized AI R&D work. CEO Ippei Shake emphasized the transformative potential of this new AI structure, stating, “We have created a new structure that can create value with speed, even in the midst of rapid changes surrounding AI.” The company’s generative AI model will be available via Microsoft Azure’s AI Studio in late 2024.
