In 2023, Reliance Industries announced its AI transformation strategy as part of a broader digital evolution. The chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, emphasized the importance of AI in enhancing productivity and efficiency across Reliance’s business sectors, spanning energy, petrochemicals, retail, entertainment, telecommunications and textiles.
A key component of this strategy is its collaboration with NVIDIA to develop AI supercomputing infrastructure to develop India-specific AI models and solutions that cater to diverse needs. Jio Platforms, a subsidiary of Reliance, plays a key role in this AI-driven transformation. Jio is set to lead the development of AI models and solutions specifically tailored for India, leveraging the country’s vast data resources and talent pool. In early 2024, Jio Platforms launched JioBrain, an AI platform to serve telco and any industry-specific IT network environments.
