Erick Rinner
Experience & Background
Erick Rinner, a Luxembourger, received his MBA from Columbia Business School in New York (Award for Excellence) and is an executive coach and a mindfulness teacher (Bangor University, UK). He has also been studying Buddhist psychology and philosophy for 15 years.
He has 32 years’ experience in private equity investments and corporate governance, and is chairman of his own investment firm, Milestone Investisseurs in Luxembourg, and a partner of Impact Expansion, a €150m social and environmental fund. He has made more than 40 acquisitions in Europe and his most successful investments include Cadum (baby products, sold to L’Oreal), Swania (ecological household products, sold to Henkel), IX Europe (data centers, sold to world leader Equinix).
Rinner’s core skills include initiating change at board level, negotiation, advising management teams on value creation and leadership. He serves on the board of private companies and trusts in Luxembourg, London, Paris, and Geneva. He teaches at IMD in Lausanne and at the University of Strasbourg in the Medicine, Meditation and Neurosciences program.
He has had a daily mindfulness practice for 16 years and is regularly in silent retreat, and gives 100% of his coaching and mind training fees to three organizations: Karuna-Shechen, Global Nomad in Tibet, and the Ogyen Choeling Fundation in Bhutan.
