In episode seven of Tech for Good, Alexander Klein explains how the lack of intervention support he received as a parent of a child newly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder planted the seed for AutismCare. This nascent startup is trying to solve the lack of access to care by providing direct, personalized support through an AI-powered engine for parents. Similar to LinkedIn learning, the idea is to provide an AI bot that coaches parents on how to implement coping strategies with their children.
Klein tells Jim Pulcrano how AI technology can help build scale and precision in an underserved population, how he defines success, and the challenges he faces as he seeks to build this social impact enterprise.
