The IMD MBA admissions process has been specifically designed to offer an in-depth, mutual opportunity for us to get to know each other better. Our goal is to create a select group of diverse and promising future leaders who can bring fresh insights into discussions and debates and contribute to the overall learning experience of the class.

Key requirements

Throughout the admissions process, we are looking for a holistic overview of your academic ability, career progression, achievements, leadership capacity, international outlook, integrity, drive, initiative and interpersonal skills. We want to know what you will contribute to the learning experience of your classmates and to the future of business and society.

  • Bachelor’s Degree: or the equivalent.
  • Work experience: we require a minimum of two years, full-time, post graduate experience, in which you can demonstrate your career progress. The typical range in the class is three to eight years.
  • One recommender: choose someone from a business-related source who knows you well, has worked directly with you and who is able to highlight your professional achievements, interpersonal skills, teamwork and leadership, using our form.
  • GMAT/GRE: we recommend that you aim for a score of 585-805 or an equivalent GRE score.
  • English: the entire program is taught in English. If English is not your native language we will assess your proficiency during the assessment day.

Online application

This is your opportunity to show us why you’re a great match for the IMD MBA program.

You will need to upload your diploma and transcripts, your GMAT or GRE score, and a one-page resume using the IMD CV template, as well as provide one business-related recommender.

Don’t forget to indicate if there are any specific scholarships that you are interested in and if so, to complete any necessary requirements.

Assessment and interview

This is your chance to shine! We offer virtual or in-person assessment days – a vibrant journey of exploration which involves a mix of individual and group tasks in addition to your interview. Ace it, and you’ll earn a spot in the prestigious IMD MBA program.

Admissions committee

The Admissions committee will conduct a comprehensive review of all the elements of your application and compare your profile to other candidates in your applicant pool.

Final decision

Candidates who meet the criteria and make a solid impression on the Admissions committee will receive an offer of admission to our esteemed IMD MBA program for the following year.

Then the decision is yours! To accept our offer and confirm your admission you’ll need to pay the enrolment deposit (non-refundable) to secure your place in the program.
