We are delighted to share that Heather Cairns-Lee, Affiliate Professor of Leadership and Communication at IMD, has been appointed to The Case Centre’s Board of Trustees

The Case Centre is recognized as the world’s largest repository of management cases, articles, book chapters, and teaching materials, making it a premier go-to source for business students. Its Board of Trustees consists of 14 academic representatives from member organizations, who convene three times a year to set the organization’s policy and oversee its operations.

“I am excited to join the Board of Trustees at The Case Centre and collaborate with fellow members to advance our shared commitment to impactful teaching and learning,” commented Cairns-Lee. “Together, we will continue to promote innovative practices that nurture responsible and effective leadership in organizations worldwide.”

Cairns-Lee joins the board alongside newly appointed Chair Stephanie Hussels from Cranfield University School of Management.

“We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie and Heather to our board. Their diverse experience and fresh perspectives will be invaluable as we continue shaping the future of our organization,” said Vicky Lester, CEO of The Case Centre. “I look forward to working closely with them to explore new opportunities as we further deliver our mission of advancing the case method worldwide.”

Cairns-Lee and Hussels succeed Anand Narasimhan, Shell Professor of Global Leadership and Dean of Research at IMD, and Sam Hariharan, Associate Professor of Practice at Babson College, who have been members of the board since 2011 and 2014, respectively.

Cairns-Lee’s appointment marks the continuation of IMD’s strong commitment to supporting executive education and innovative business practices.

For over 50 years, IMD’s faculty have made significant contributions to the Case Centre, earning the institution the distinction of holding the second-highest number of awards. In 2023, IMD reached a new record with over 233,000 cases sold globally.

The case “Carbon is the new calorie: Logitech’s carbon impact label to drive transparency in sustainability”, written by Cairns-Lee and fellow IMD professor Julia Binder, was recognized at The Case Centre Awards and Competitions 2024.
