IMD designs and delivers high-impact customized learning journeys through classroom, virtual liVe and online learning, coaching, discovery expeditions, innovation interventions, sprints, mega dives and experiential leadership exercises.
We fully tailor learning journeys for one up to thousands of participants, delivered in the location of choice.
Increasingly relevant, impactful, and creative learning solutions
Our Custom Programs generated record revenues for the second consecutive year in 2023: we delivered 416 Custom Programs to 166 global organizations.
We made a step change in innovation on the Technology Interventions side, and many of these innovations were leveraged in Custom Programs.
The year saw a deepening of relationships with key clients, as many chose IMD for additional custom programs and diversified services such as coaching, advisory, and talent assessment. Notably, the scale of programs expanded significantly.
“Our size, agility, and entrepreneurial spirit have enabled us to launch numerous groundbreaking innovations in technology, diverse learning pedagogies, and talent assessment. These initiatives have significantly contributed to the development of even more relevant, impactful, and creative learning solutions for our clients.”
Face-to-face delivery continued to grow as clients continued to place their focus on human connection: 75% of all Custom Program delivery took place face-to-face or through blended journeys.

Golden recognition
Our Custom Program with the LEGO Group led by John Weeks earned a Gold Award in the 2023 EFMD Excellence in Practice Awards in the Organizational Development category. The award recognizes outstanding and impactful learning and development partnerships in the field of executive education.
Partnering with IMD, the LEGO Group co-created three two-day workshops for a cross-functional working group, culminating in the development of the Leadership Playground, a manifesto laying out a new approach to leadership that aimed to empower and energize people at all levels. The functional and strategic knowledge and the more clearly aligned culture defined by the Leadership Playground equipped the senior leaders to deliver the strategy.
“The Leadership Playground represents the essence of our core values at the LEGO Group – the power of playful learning to energize all colleagues, regardless of their role, and help them develop as leaders. We’re honored to be recognized alongside IMD and thank them for their fantastic, continued partnership.”
Our work was also recognized with a Brandon Hall gold award in the learning development category for the Custom Program with Mandiri Bank on an integrated approach to strategic talent development.
NEXUS – holistic engagement with IMD
NEXUS grants access to all of IMD, driving HR and learning and development professionals towards learning solutions that best address their organizations’ strategic priorities through its innovative model and tailored support.
In 2023, we established a new membership-level structure, resulting in higher member engagement rates. The transition was managed with care, resulting in the onboarding of new members and a steady membership renewal rate.
With over 70 members from a broad range of industries, rich networking opportunities were offered to all through NEXUS events and program access.
NEXUS once again hosted a variety of unique Discovery Events in 2023, with seven 1.5-day events delivered throughout the year.
The broad range of topics included The Importance of Supply Chain for Senior Executives, Inclusive Conversations: The gender perspective, The Infinite Learning Loop of a Future-ready Organization, and Sustainability: Combining Leadership and Hard Skills for Change.
With a split between virtual and face-to-face delivery, over 100 clients participated worldwide.
2023 also saw the first Discovery Event hosted at the IMD campus in Singapore, which featured groundbreaking hologram technology, bringing IMD’s President Jean-François Manzoni from Lausanne to Singapore in real time.
Throughout 2023, partners engaged with IMD in a truly holistic way, from extensive utilization of our open enrolment portfolio – including online programs and Sprints – to executive coaching, learning and development advisory, diversity, equity and inclusion support, and much more. The year saw widespread usage of the NEXUS digital portal, which helped simplify the nomination and enrollment process for our members and their executives who attended our programs and events.
