Global Center for Digital Business Transformation
The Global Center for Digital Business Transformation provides world-leading research and analysis on digital business transformation. It prepares executives to take advantage of digital opportunities and respond to digital threats.
These insights also inform IMD’s digital transformation programs for individuals and organizations. You can learn more about the Center and meet our team here.
A rich portfolio of programs
In 2023, we continued to deliver our rich portfolio of in-person, live, online, and Sprint format digital transformation programs, as well as the Executive Certificate in Digital Business Excellence.
Our five-day Leading Digital Business Transformation (LDBT) program was delivered six times during the year in Lausanne and Dubai and reached a milestone edition.
“The LDBT training at IMD was a transformative experience, seamlessly integrating theoretical knowledge with practical insights and real-world challenges faced by businesses in digital transformation.”
A milestone anniversary for LDBT
In June, we marked the 50th edition of our Leading Digital Business Transformation program and welcomed alumni to a reunion on campus. The event included a panel discussion, Our Future with AI, exploring various aspects of generative AI and its implications for the future.
A gold-winning Sprint
Our Digital Transformation Sprint program, developed in partnership with NovoEd, was honored with six 2023 Brandon Hall Tech Awards. This accelerated learning experience – written and conducted by Michael Wade, Professor of Innovation and Strategy and Director of the Center – was the recipient of six gold awards:
- Best Authoring Tools Platform
- Best Digital Courseware Platform
- Best Collaboration Platform
- Best Mobile App for Education
- Best Online Courses or MOOCs Solution
- Best E-learning, Blended, Flipped Classroom Solution or Remote Solution
Taking the measure of a digital transformation
In December 2023, we launched the Digital Transformation KPI project, a new interactive, online tool designed to measure the progress of digital transformation projects and improve their chances of success.
Many organizations invest considerable resources, time, and effort in their digital transformation projects, only for them to falter. According to market surveys, a startlingly high 87% of digital transformation initiatives meet this fate.
Drawing from an extensive knowledge base of 80+ real-life cases, with 30+ measurement areas and 80+ KPIs, the tool undergoes regular updates based on ongoing research and field experience.
Reaching out to our community
Our regular newsletter on digital thought leadership reached all Digital Circle members as well as other IMD alumni. We also made several external presentations at conferences and other events. As part of our Digital Leader Circle, we organized three events for digital leaders in 2023, including a face-to-face Summit in October.
