Our People

Our inclusive community, made up of 46 nationalities, is committed to welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and supporting them professionally and personally. We strive to create a diverse workplace with low levels of hierarchy, and operate with honesty and transparency. Each member of our team is given the chance to maximize potential, feed curiosity, and form meaningful connections within our close community. This enables our colleagues to develop their skills in a culture that blends high performance with positive well-being.

In 2024, we provided all employees with access to a range of professional development opportunities and training sessions. As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a caring and inclusive culture, we held our second Well-being Month and organized a series of events to maintain the focus on DE&I and, at the same time, create opportunities for engagement. Our on-going activities during the course of 2024 aimed at engaging with our employees as well as providing opportunities to support our local communities.

Our highlights of 2024

Supporting our people with learning and development

Our Learning and Development offering included 24 open programs at IMD, external courses, access to research via R&D conferences, and coaching. We increased the focus on AI through our program AI@IMD and introduced new onboarding processes welcoming a total of 92 newcomers. Over the course of the year, 33 colleagues transitioned to roles with greater responsibilities.

Caring for our people – well-being

During our Well-being Month in September, we ran a diverse array of activities including workshops and sports. 140 employees joined over 30 sessions focused on such topics as self-care mindfulness, holistic nutrition, and emotional intelligence. Additionally, the IMD Resilient Leadership Sprint was hosted internally for all staff members.

Our continued focus on diversity and inclusion

We organized a series of events and activities on and around campus to maintain the focus on DE&I and convey symbolic messages to everyone, creating a psychologically safe environment for all. In 2024, we marked International Women’s Day, Pride Month, Black History Month, and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Engaging with our employees and our local community

At our monthly Community Meetings we updated all employees on the institution’s operations, strategy, news, and achievements. Around 2,800 participants joined the meetings in person or remotely from across the globe. The Youth@IMD Team launched IdeaHub, a centralized idea portal for all IMD employees to submit and share their innovative ideas, which encourages open collaboration across departments. Within our local community we supported a number of initiatives including the Steps for Cancer, Samedi du Partage, and the Fondation Mère Sofia Toy Drive.
