San Patrignano Community (B)
This case series describes one of the world’s most remarkable communities, which for the past twenty years has continuously achieved extraordinary results working with marginalized individuals. Case B focuses on the personal and professional leadership challenges facing Andrea Muccioli, as he takes the helm of San Patrignano in 1995 following the death of his father, Vincenzo. This case describes the successful start-up of a number of business ventures in the Community under Andrea’s leadership, which helped reduce its dependence on private donors. For example, by 1999 the wine producing and exporting venture alone was generating US$ 5 million per year, which was the total of all revenues in 1995.
